You know what I was once unfortunate and living in poverty in the Philippines, and I was privileged enough to be able to move to Canada where there are a lot of things that opened up for me and I realised that there’s so much for the world to see. So much for the people in the LGBTQ+ community to experience and I’ve experienced that. Because I do believe that trans is beautiful and we have to make social programmes for that, I’ve been working in NGOs as a sociologist and I’m a PhD candidate working on beauty studies, and I do believe that I can be a transformational leader if we are supporting NGO’s. I was born lgbtq transgender. There are many people who see this as a disadvantage, a negative. But instead of seeing this as a negative, I turn it into a strength. I want people, not only transgender people, but anyone who feels that they have a disability or that they are different from others, not to see it as a negative, but to see it as a set of all of these things that make them who they are and turn it into a power and a weapon that allows them to express themselves. I want to convey this very much in this competition. Negative elements can be turned into positivity and power if it is up to you. If each and every one of us has this, I think it will make the world a happier place.

So what I want to inspire change is to make sure that people stay true to themselves that they always believe in themselves and that they also show that kindness and light inside of them to the other people. Well, I’ll start by saying about the social media, we only use the social media for the good or bad for the bad stuff, like criticising….So I think that if we use that in the correct way we can transform the social media in our powerful weapons, so people can learn, understand and actually do things better. Things are, in effect, inevitable.
It’s something that probably the human being has been working on since the beginning of times, but we that’s what happens with us. We do evolution through the older bad stuff. So I will tell them to. I believe that the problems we are experiencing worldwide are a consequence of social networks, as not all people know how to use them and like to hurt other people with negative messages. It should be used in the best way to contact family members who are sometimes away and not be used to attack people, because it will make it clear that mental health is currently very affected, and it is an issue that needs to be addressed.

Well, I believe that as a role and a great model as a leader in a Miss International Queen platform, I felt that throughout this, we can make it a normal norm like to make it for our younger generation to understand this situation. By education through education, we can educate them by lecturing about how equality works nowadays, especially in my country, which is Singapore.
We just have article 3778A repealed where it’s actually for the same sex. We have this same sex law, we actually it’s been cancelled from all the law books, which is something a new stepping stones for all the new younger generation to feel and to be true to themselves. I felt this is the time and right now this is the only time that all of us were here, as the Queen came in with a lot of messages to be an impactful leader for all our new younger generations around the world.

Firstly, I believe that encouraging oneself and adjusting one’s mindset are important. In situations like these, we cannot rely on others to heal our hearts; we have to do it ourselves. If the world’s situation does not improve today, we should heal our own hearts and say, “encourage yourself greatly”. Nothing is more crucial than motivating and loving oneself. I want everyone to turn towards loving themselves, to take good care of themselves. Because the most vital thing in living a happy life is to love oneself.

I think change is a constant and most of the time we find ourselves riding a pendulum from one extreme to the other, and when you look at life from that pendulum, you can sometimes think that… things are never going to get better. But that’s not true.
Things always get better, and I believe that if we try our best to improve the world, first within ourselves and then through others, we can actually positively influence change. My advice to everyone else would be to simply be your best self-love. To others, always treat others as equals. I think I will choose the education for young generation, as I understand its significant importance for all of us. So when we teach them education, then they will know what the LGBTQ+ community really is, and we will have more respect, equality, and support from them, and they will know that we are human, and we are normal like them. By walking this journey with them, we can demonstrate to the world who we truly are and what we can do.
